They are chained to the sled. The heavy chain clamp can be seen resting on top of the logs,
as the man standing there has his peavey positioned there to keep it from slipping.
The man in the plaid shirt is walking behind the log sled, and carrying a ball-peen hammer
and a hatchet, and has a folding wood ruler in his back pocket.
Just visible over his left shoulder, there are 2 females, possibly a mother and daughter,
standing and watching the progress.
