Let me start by saying that this steamboat is NOT named after the famous Admiral Joe Fowler, the man who helped Walt Disney, and had his own steamboat named after him.
"Admiral Joe Fowler" (July 9, 1894 - December 6, 1993) was a rear admiral of the United States Navy, who after his retirement had an important role in overseeing the construction of Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

The steamboat I have pictured here was a sternwheel packet boat built at Jeffersonville, Indiana, 1888.
She received new boilers in 1914, and was converted to an excursion boat in 1917, and was then renamed the "Crescent".

In my image above, the decks are loaded with passengers, and I'm guessing it must have been quite warm out, as almost all the men are in shirtsleeves rather than wearing jackets. They all seem to be wearing ties, and of course, hats.
The women are all wearing light-colored outfits, but only a few are wearing hats, and the kids are all bareheaded.

The very scary giant black slug-looking monster that is about to attack the ship is just some damaged emulsion on the negative.
*ha-ha*

These next images are not mine, but show the boat even more:

It just occurred to me that I don't know if you refer a ship with a man's name as "her"...?
