...Personal note:
     Most of the "fun" of putting these old images online is the research that I do to get all the information I can for each of these prints I made in my home darkroom back in the 1980's.
That being said, my "learning curve" is practically straight up! LOL
These lightships each have several "versions" in their history, apparently marked by their ship numbers, which may or may not be evident in the images I have. Case-in-point is Lightship "Brenton". I have searched for over 6 hours to finally find out that the image I have is of Lightship Brenton - "LV-39" (I'm guessing "Lightship Vessel #39").
...and yes, the "fun" for me really is the search and discovery!
I do think of myself as something of an "Image Sleuth".


This "version" of the Lightship Brenton has only the name "BRENTON" painted on the hull. There are other paintjobs that have it as "BRENTON REEF". I have seen pix where the hull is painted black, as well.
